Since stepping on the scene as a DJ and Promoter back in the mid eighties with his Brooklyn based block parties, Kenny Dope has never faltered always bringing to the table some of the most inspired mixes and production around.
Whether it be his solo work or in collaborations with Louie Vega under the Masters at work moniker Kenny Dope has, I believe, been at the forefront of dance music around the world so long due to his genre defying ways producing and playing music that he likes rather than adhering to category trend restrictions.
This mix is an example of that musical versatility, this time opting for a sweet selection of funk, soul and everything in between ensuring that by the time the last record comes to an end you’ll be begging for more. Special thanks to Krista ‘The queen of the jaded’ for bringing this to my attention, enjoy.
