Once you’ve jailbroken your iPhone you’ll notice a new app in your Springboard, called CYDIA. Cydia is the hackers version of the iTunes App Store. Once you open Cydia, you’ll be bombarded with the biggest list of apps EVER most of which are free. Whilst this is awesome, the sheer volume of apps makes it very hard to make educated choices on what apps to install, and it’s very easy to install totally useless apps and waste your time. So we’ve compiled a beginners guide to Cydia, 10 apps that will get you going with your jailbroken device and make your iPhone life easier and more useful in the process.
Winterboard Winterboard is the ‘control’ app for the way your iPhone looks and sounds, once you’ve installed winterboard, you can then go back in to Cydia and choose from the plethora of themes that range from Lock Screens, to wallpapers to soundsets.
Upon installing these Themes, you won’t actually notice anything, until you go back in to Winterboard and ‘tick’ the themes ACTIVE. On hitting the home screen, the Springboard will freeze and then restart, and your new theme settings will be active.

iBlackList iBlackList serves two main purposes, primarily it allows you to create Blacklists and Whitelists for your contacts. Depending on your setup, iBlackList will allow or disallow certain contacts to get through to you. Simply put, MxTube is YouTube with the ability to download videos for offline viewing. LogoMe Select any image and LogoMe will replace the Apple logo on start up with an image of your choice. It’s a little bit of fun, and really serves no purpose, but we’re nerds and it’s fun!
Reminder (aka Notifier) Once you’ve installed iBlackList and turned on your Notifications Privacy you will need a way to see if you have messages at a glance. This is where Reminder comes in to play. This app adds some small icons to the top bar of your iPhone and shows when you have an SMS, Mail, MMS, Missed call or IM.
KeyVib KeyVib makes your iPhone vibrate on every key click when typing emails or SMS. Whilst it drains the battery a little bit more than usual, it makes typing that little bit more responsive. Try it out, some people love it, some people hate it.
Make It Mine
Make It Mine allows you to change the carrier name (or remove it totally as shown above). Also it lets you change the clock to read anything else you want it to. We like the idea of removing the Carrier name entirely, because it makes the iPhone top bar look less busy.
Apps like ‘Stocks’ are pretty useless for everyone, and we’re not sure why Apple have included it as a basic app. However, most people would prefer it wasn’t visible. Poof! allows you to ‘hide’ apps that you don’t want to see.

In the beginning years, sheet music was being introduced, followed by music records. But right now, everyone is downloading music online from file sharing applications such as Ares, Limewire, Kazaa and more. These are illegal! But on the contrary…
Recently, a new software has been launched called ‘Spotify’ which is legal. Through this software, one can listen to free streaming of songs. However, there will be advertisements that will be played in the midst. This software is now available in a few phones from Nokia, Samsung and Sony ericsson. Enjoy!
There was more that I learnt while working for this project. There is a website called MySpace where junior artists like you and me can create albums and upload them online for the public to hear. The famous singer Colbie Caillat had record companies knocking on her door only after she showcased her talent on MySpace! Who knows, tomorrow it might be me. =)
So in future, relating back to the problem about people downloading songs online rather than buying cds, probably there might not be any record production. Instead, all tracks might just be uploaded online for downloading. You may still have to pay though due to the digital and legal downloading of tracks. You can digitally download tracks from iTunes.

Heute möchte ich euch auch noch eine neue Downloadseite vorstellen! Sie heißt XM Sims und bietet euch Kleidung, Haare und verschiedene Meshs. Schon zu Sims2 Zeiten war diese Seite präsent und bot eine Menge sehr qualitativ hochwertiger Sims Downloads.
Nun gibt es die Page auch für die Sims3 und ihr könnt euch über genauso hochwertige Downloads freuen. Vor allem die Haare haben es mir persönlich angetan.
Neben Kleidung und Haaren ist die Seite auch auf weitere Downloads angelegt, zum Beispiel Make up, Skins und Accessoires. Leider ist die Seite noch nicht so groß, das eben diese angeboten werden.
